SURF Incubator Helping to Launch Technology Startups in Seattle

SURF Incubator Launch Event, Digital Media Production & Strategy

Less than two months after officially opening its doors with 15 startups as tenants, SURF Incubator has doubled the number of companies renting out desks.  SURF, short for StartUp Really Fast, is on the 8th floor of the historic Exchange Building downtown Seattle.

New Media Synergy helped kick off the launch of SURF with a party in the Exchange Building lobby. With over 400 members of the tech community in attendance, the launch was a banging success. The party gave SURF the opportunity to showcase residents, network, and celebrate.  Darin Williams with Proletariat Wine Company provided an amazing variety of reds and whites. Pyramid Brewery brought an excellent selection of brews.

Ten SURF residents had the opportunity to pitch their startup in 90 seconds.  After the pitch competition, the audience voted on their favorite. New Media Synergy sponsored the winning pitch with a trip to DEMO 2012 down in Silicon Valley.

The leading pitch went to Nick Hughes, CEO of Seconds; an ecommerce program that provides payment services via text. Seconds compresses a minutes worth of transaction time into just a few seconds by automating payment into one simple text message. In October, Seconds will fly down to Silicon Valley and pitch their startup to the entire audience at DEMO. Best of luck to Nick and his crew!
